The Queen of the May

The submission period for Jesus the Imagination, Volume 7: “The Household of Things” is now open.

We’re looking for poetry, essays, and other imaginative writing as well as photography and artwork that addresses what one might call “the economy of the Real.” This economy touches on all of the things that contribute to a healthy human life. We would love to see work on Distributism and alternative actual currencies as well as farming and gardening, homesteading, handcrafts, husbandry, and even education, not to mention the reimagination of conviviality and the festival year and its cosmological dimensions (including folk religion). In addition, we’re interested in work that explores the invisible world and its inhabitants, as they, too, are a part of the household of things.

The deadline for submissions is 25 March 2023. Send your submissions to mmartin@jesustheimagination.com

We live in a curious time: a time in which the realities of the spirit and the body are almost entirely denied in favor of a technocratic dream of self-invention and an absorption in the virtual self.

It is time to reclaim both the flesh and the spirit.

To that project, Jesus the Imagination: A Journal of Spiritual Revolution is now inviting submissions of poetry, essays, photography, and artwork for volume 6, “Flesh and Spirit.” We are also interested in translations! Send no more than 3-5 poems, one essay, or 2-3 works of art (in a file, of course). The deadline is 1 January 2022.

Jesus the Imagination has featured work by Therese Schroeder-Sheker, John Milbank, Jon Egan, Catrin Welz-Stein, Alison Milbank, Michael Sauter, Jonathan Geltner, Elias Crim, Katie Hartsock, and many others as well as interviews with Owen Barfield, The Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus, Therese Schroeder-Sheker, Gunther Hauk, and Margaret Barker.

Send your best work. Send submissions to mmartin@jesustheimagination.com

Also, feel free to check out our recent volume, “The Divine Feminine” as well as our other collections. You can find them here.
